I must admit I was getting a little worried when it had gone a quarter to ten and we still hadn’t done the first (very slow) dance. The evening was going to end up ‘upside down’ as I’d been keeping the younger guests amused by putting on several chart songs and people were really up for a dance. Still, we had until 1am so the night was still young.
Anyway, we managed to get the bride and groom back in the room (I think they were having more pictures taken) and off we went on a musical roller coaster ride that included The Wurzels, The Vengaboys, The Beatles, The Foo Fighters and The Queen. The Queen? No, I meant just Queen. Did I mention The Wurzels? …Well the happy couple were from Nailsea.
I was planning on doing a proper gig log but was too carried away in the moment for any videoing, so I only have a short clip of my set-up at the start of the evening I’m afraid. Overall I thought The Aztec West Hotel & Spa was excellent, hopefully I’ll DJ there again some day.
