So here was my third surprise 50th birthday party disco in the past 6 months, this time at Shepton Mallet Football Club, a cracking little venue just perfect for these sort of events.
As seems to be the way with 50th, 60th, 70th etc birthdays the daughters have organised a surprise disco party for their mum and invited friends and family old and new to join in the celebration.
I managed to get a few musical pointers from the girls as to what their mum liked which always helps – although there is only so much Celine Dion I own! Keeping everyone happy on the dance floor can be tricky at events like these due to the two extremes of age groups – on one hand you have the birthday girl and her friends and their era of music and on the other hand you have the daughters and their friends who like more clubby music. There are however many tunes that bridge these gaps and add some requests in and everyones happy.
The birthday girl seemed genuinely surprised and a good night was had by all.
